Integration of MaxPatrol and Cisco MARS
Positive Technologies declares integration of Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Response System (Cisco MARS) and MaxPatrol Compliance and Vulnerability Management System developed by Positive Technologies.
Cisco MARS certified by FSTEK of Russia (the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control) allows users to gather alerts from various information security features and network devices to analyze the security state of enterprise and departmental networks, detect complex attacks, response to them, and transfer the consolidated data to the Service Desk systems. To solve some of these problems, it is necessary to have exact information about the network topology and the vulnerabilities of network hosts; this information can be obtained via MaxPatrol system, which has a function of information system security analysis.
The MaxPatrol Compliance and Vulnerability Management System represents a unique product combining mechanisms of system checks, penetration testing and compliance management, as well as analysis of network equipment, operating systems, DBMSs, application and ERP systems, and web applications. MaxPatrol allows users to generate consistent corporate standards, to automate the inventory processes, revision control, vulnerability management, and compliance control, as well as to estimate the efficiency of IT and IS processes using key performance indicators (KPIs).
Cisco MARS and MaxPatrol were integrated, because both products are popular and are often applied together in corporate networks. Integration of the products allows clients to use the security assessment results obtained by MaxPatrol in the Cisco MARS system. This data is used by MARS to construct the network topology and to correlate the security events with actual vulnerabilities discovered by MaxPatrol.
